Things may get personal. So I’ll write to you in a later email.
Sorry, maybe my blog has a little problem. The mail system has’t sent email to me for your comment. Very sorry.
Very thankful we have the common belief. Yes, I have a same plan to read all the books of Master Nan. He is so wise and merciful. Meanwhile, he is so careful in his life.
The five precepts is the basic, although I have not accepted them in temple. but I obey them in my daily life. The important of obeying the commandment is observing our mind(守心). So I do my best to observe my mind my daily life. But it’s so hard.
My method is “居一切時不起妄念，於諸妄心亦不息滅；住妄想境不加了知；於無了知亦不辯真實”, which is from 《圓覺經》。 And there is a book of Master Nan called 《圓覺經略講》。 From my experience, the intellect(知性) is very important in practice.
In my daily life, I do a lot of wrong things, for example, selfishness, tired of somebody and something. So I will confess when I make food to all creatures(施食) at night.
In the morning and at night, I will do zazen(打坐) to read Zhunti(念准提咒) or be silent. My roommates are very kind. They accept and comprehend my belief.
At last, learning from Buddha is not so easy. Aha. Sometimes there are so many things to give up but I can’t. Be on the way!
Dear Hugh Gao,
Sorry for the belated reply.I’m not aware of your message until I checked your site again today since it didn’t inform me about it via email.
I am Chinese so I do can read Chinese books although I do prefer English during our conversations. But if you want me to speak Chinese instead,it’s okay to bring it up.Indeed there’re so many books about Buddhism that were written in Chinese. It’s almost impossible for us to read them all in our present life. But we don’t have to read them all, don’t we?I aslo do have read books of Master Nan Huai-Jin’s like 《論語別裁》、《金剛經說什麽》、《花雨滿天維摩說法》etc..I have a plan to read all the books under his name.I believe you have one too.:)I liked him a lot.He is a real master although there are people judging him incorrectly.
Since you’re a real buddhist instead of some scholar who just studies Buddhism as a subject.I’m wondering have you accepted the five precepts. It’s important for us buddhists at home（在家） to accept and obey them.
That’s all.I don’t have much to say about CS in the moment.I look forward to your reply. You can use email if you prefer.
